Headline Contest Rules
- Competition Winner will be the headliner musical act on the Old State Saloon Main Stage for Eagle Harvest Festival on October 14, 2023 at 3pm (Time TBD and subject to change.) The Eagle Harvest Festival is co-hosted by Old State Saloon and the City of Eagle as advertised here: https://www.cityofeagle.org/303/Eagle-Harvest-Fest
- Tryouts are held at Old State Saloon on Mondays Open Mic Nights prior to the Event Date (Oct 14). Open Mic Night is 7-11pm on Sept 4, 11, 18, 25, and Oct. 2nd (UPDATE: October 9 is no longer a tryout date.) There is no advance signup necessary – just show up ready to perform. Originals and Cover songs are allowed, however the ideal musical act will perform some Covers of crowd favorites as is typically expected at a City festival.
- Tryouts will consist of 2-4 songs (under 5:00 each) and in the case of a large turnout, Judges reserve the right to limit each act to (2) songs each. New acts hoping to Tryout will take priority over those that have already participated in a Tryout. An act that has already performed at a Tryout may place themselves at the end of the queue and perform again if there are no new acts waiting. UPDATE: PA, drum kit and upright piano will be available for tryouts.
- Whatever the Judges say is final. Judges can overrule any written or unwritten rule at any time. Mark and Sarah Fitzpatrick are the Final Judges.
- You must be 21 years of age or older to be present at Old State Saloon and to participate in the Tryout portion.
- Old State Saloon employees are not eligible to Tryout or win the prize.
- The total number of bands able to Tryout will be limited to Old State Saloon operating hours and Tryouts are first-come, first-serve basis. It is at the discretion of the Saloon owners to extend the hours of Tryouts and in that event, an announcement will be made on Old State Saloon Facebook and Instagram pages.
- The Eagle Harvest Festival is a family event. Profanity must be censored both for Tryouts and at the Eagle Harvest Festival. Violating this rule will result in an immediate power-off of the sound system and dismissal from the stage.
- Once again, there are no signups – it’s first come, first serve on Monday Open Mic Nights. Show up with your instruments, PA sound system, mics, drum kit, and an upright piano are provided. Please do not call or text about signups.
- Winners will be announced by midnight on Tuesday, October 4, 2023. Judges reserve the right to select multiple winners for additional timeslots as opening acts.
- For the winner(s): Acts will have 24 hours to confirm their commitment to perform at Eagle harvest Festival, or a new winner will be selected. An agreement will need to be signed digitally or in-person upon accepting the headlining or other time slot.
- All members of any performing acts may be asked to sign a release form, allowing promotional images and footage to be used in conjunction with this and future events for Old State Saloon.
